China may be registered at the British Consulate

for a period of six aonths. The British Congal

will co amunicate the names of persons so regis-

tered to the Chinese Authorities and the British

Author ities will protect and exeroise juzisdic-

tion over them. At the end of the six months

period the registration at the British Consulate

will be cancelled unless in the meantime the

individual in question has obtained from the

Chinese Authorities a certificate of denationali-

sation.

(2) Existing RegistraЯts.

British subjects of Chinese race at present

registered at a British Consulate will be allowed

a period of six months within which to obtain

certificates of denationalisation.

At the end

of this period the registration of those who

have not obtained such certificates will be

cancelled and the British Authorities will no

longer claim the right to protest and exercise

jurisdiction over them.

(3) In general the British authorities

will not claim the right to protect and exercise
